Editing Settings Overview

When you edit settings, your choice of pixel dimensions and file sizes will depend on what you plan to do with the resized images. You can find some useful tips here.

> To edit settings:

1.From the menu, select Settings > Edit.
2.Select the settings you want to edit, then click OK.
3.The Edit Settings dialog will be displayed.
4.Make the desired changes to the settings. See details below and in the later topics of this chapter.
5.Click OK to save your changes.

 

This dialog provides access to the parameters for the settings you selected. Tabs divide the various resizing parameters into groups:

Dimensions Tab

With these parameters, you can:

 

Choose pixel dimensions and resizing rules
Use the Print Wizard
Set the dots/inch (DPI) of resized images
PRO-1 Add a border

PRO-1 Captions Tab

With these parameters, you can:

 

Specify the text for captions
Choose the font details
Choose the caption or watermark style
Specify the caption location and rotation

Format Tab

With these parameters, you can:

 

Choose the file format for resized images
Choose the compression method for resized images
PRO-1 Choose from 12 different resampling algorithms

Filenames Tab

With these parameters, you can:

 

Add a prefix and/or suffix to filenames
Rename files with auto-numbering
Choose the filename extension (JPEG format only)
Convert filenames to upper, lower or proper case
Leave or remove spaces in filenames, or replace them with a different symbol

Saving Files Tab

With these parameters, you can:

 

Choose a folder for saving resized images
Sharpen images before saving
PRO-1 Preserve the original file date and time for resized images
PRO-1 Copy EXIF or IPTC data from original to resized images
PRO-1 Add an EXIF comment to resized images
PRO-1 Choose the option to delete original files after resizing
